Whipple Superchargers are a Twin-Crew style supercharger which are  positive displacement supercharger that compresses air before it enters the engine's combustion chamber. Twin-screw superchargers are known for their efficiency, linear power delivery, and the ability to produce significant low-end torque. Its one of the best ways to increase power especially on a v6 or v8 application.

Although a little more expensive than the roots type superchargers, twin screws do offer more efficiency, less parasitic losses and cooler charge temperatures. While these positives are slight on street applications, in extreme scenarios the gap widens between the two types of superchargers.
